Riseley Cottage, perched elegantly on a hillside off the beaten track, commands impressive views of Hartz Peak and The Narrows estuary and is close to the magnificent South West Wilderness. Hosts, Philip and Greg, courteous and attentive service will ensure your stay a pleasurable one: a chance to indulge and unwind a little, whilst exploring the many and varied attractions of Tasmanias appealing Huon Valley and Far South region. Just 7km south of the picturesque setting of Dover, the original cottage was built in 1915 by Herbert Riseley and has been tastefully renovated by the present owners to create an ambience sympathetic to the original, further enhanced by an eclectic collection of period furniture and furnishings. In addition our very own Private Forest Reserve provides guests the opportunity to fully explore the surrounding countryside and waterways.
Accommodation includes Guest Lounge featuring antique grand piano and extensive CD collection, Breakfast Room with views over attractive Cottage Garden, Wood Fires, Electric Blankets, Generous Breakfast offering Home Made produce, Port and Chocolates and Complimentary afternoon tea... our guests agree we offer great value for money! One of our superior ensuite rooms comes with its own wood heater and large bath (just ask for when you book).
Always well received, optional delicious home cooked evening meals are a speciality, adding an intimate romantic dimension to any holiday experience (NB: not available summer and peak periods). These can be negotiated directly with your hosts up to 24hrs prior to your arrival. BBQ available. Children 12yrs and over welcome.
